The weather has finally taken a turn and it’s pretty consistently warm now…some days warmer than others, but at least we can shed the winter coats once and for all!
We’ve been tackling our lawn as our major summer project. When they built the house, they just threw down some seed on a bed of clay and gravel and since we can’t afford sod, we’re having to coax our lawn to life, one small bit at a time.
In the meantime, Kira loves going outside. You have to be careful to say the words “go”, “walk”, or “outside”, because she’ll run to the door and cry if she doesn’t get taken out immediately.

The day I’ve been dreading – Kira has figured out how to take her clothes off. So far just the shirt and also anything I put in her hair, but it KILLS me!! I have major OCD when it comes to having her neat and tidy all the time and she just messes herself right up!! LOL
Where did my pretty baby go???

Kira and the kitty are slowly becoming best friends…or at least willing playmates. The kitty is remarkably laid back with a baby constantly picking at her. We’ve taught Kira to “be nice to the kitty” and she is relatively gentle. Now and then she does still take a big handful of the kitty and a tangle of yowling ensues until we can rescue the cat.

For all the talk of needing to buy this fancy toy or that advanced thing for your toddler to play with, they seem to be thrilled with the simplest of things.
Here is Kira having a blast walking around, jabbering, and holding her two new dollies – courtesy of Walmart for $1 each.
Who says treasure has to be expensive?
