Well I’m a week late in posting but I just couldn’t find the spare time to sit down and get it all down right. So here goes…
Last Thursday night Joseph, Kira and I drove down to Chicago. Kira and I had a playdate set with four other Sugarbaby mamas from around the country. For those of you who are not Sugarbaby mamas, we’re an online playgroup who have been together some of us since the days we were trying to get pregnant. We went through pregnancy together and now all of our December 2008 babies are much discussed in our online playgroup.

Today was my first official Mother’s Day. I was pregnant last year which kind of counted but not quite. This year I actually got to feel like a real mother. Joseph and Kira got me the sweetest gold locket for a present. I came home from work and found Kira with it round her neck. So beautiful! I also got 4 new bottles of wine to add to my wine “cellar” collection.
This Thursday night Joseph, Kira and I are headed to Chicago for a couple of days. This will be Kira’s first family vacation. We’re headed down for a 2-day playdate with some fellow moms from around the country that I’ve known for the past year and a half. Weather permitting, we’ll go to the zoo, walk on the beach – and Joseph will spend his time chilling in our fancy hotel room. I think it will be really fun.
