You all have been asking for video so I have finally gotten around to putting something short together. I did not have much to work with as both myself and Melanie have not been recording much.
For those of you over in NZ please let me know how it runs. I aimed for a video that would run ok with a 150 Kb a sec download but I can lower it if needed.
If you would like I can recompile a full quality version for download.

Pretty in my pink dress
It’s hard to believe that Kira is 3 months old already. It seems like just yesterday I was getting ready for her to be born; now she’s all grown up 
So excited to be 3 months old!
She is doing fantastically. She is smiling all the time, and now is cooing/talking a lot. She has also started laughing; mostly at night when I’m changing her into her pajamas, she will just start chuckling away. It’s so cute, but it’s hard to get her to do it very often yet. She’s also taken to slurping on her fists all the time now, which is pretty cute but gets kind of noisy. She is really the most calm, patient, content little baby I’ve ever been around. I hope it lasts!
Me & my Mummy
Kira marked her 3 month birthday by catching a cold. She probably caught it from her daddy. Joseph was pretty sick with it a week ago, and now Kira (and me unfortunately) are both trying to fight it off. Hopefully by the weekend we’ll all be healthy again.

The weather is starting to get nicer here and there. The other day it got up to over 70 F (21 C) so my mom & dad, Joseph and I loaded Kira in the stroller and walked up to the local restaurant for dinner. It’s a nice 30 minute walk, part of the way through a beautiful cemetery, the rest of the way down the sidewalk in town. It was such a fun evening, and the baby really enjoyed her ride.
Sad news: I have to go back to work on Monday. I’m really really dreading it. My mom will be watching Kira, but I just hate the idea of someone else taking my place all day long. Oh well, no choice, but it’s still going to be really hard.
Guess that is the update for this week. Here are a few photos to leave you with… Now that she’s starting to do fun stuff, I’m going to figure out how to upload some video clips from time to time.

Shopping is so tiring

I was so proud of my little Kira yesterday. My mom picked me up at 12:30 to go do my monthly grocery shopping trip, and two stores and 4 1/2 hours later we finally got home about 5:00. The baby was stuck in her carseat that whole time, and she stayed awake for some reason. Well, she never once cried or fussed that entire time. She just rode around, smiled and cooed at us, or just stared at things. Right on cue at 3:30 I could see thunderclouds rolling over her face and so I whipped out the bottle and fed her with one hand while shopping with the other. But she never cried or fussed and happily didn’t even spit up since I couldn’t burp her.
We got her home and changed her and she was SO happy to lay on her back and kick around. I figured she’d get cranky later and it kicked in about 6:30. She took about a 45 minute snooze on me, then got her bottle and was in bed at 9:00. LOL – I have never seen a baby that young so happy to get into bed. I laid her down and she immediately went into sleeping positition (arm flung up at the side of her head and her face turned into it). She was asleep in minutes.
Anyway, I was just so happy to have a 2 1/2 month old that is so laid back that she will put up with a day like that, and stay happy to boot. And it was so cute how I could practically hear the “oh…finalllllly” sigh from her when she got into bed.
