Finally got Melanie and Kira home after six days on hospital. Everything was nice and tidy and Melanie’s father Neil had been around and cleared enough snow for the car to get in.

Had an interesting first night. Turns out the good behaviour from the hospital was just to lull us into a false sense of security.

Kitty seems to have reacted ok but we still watch. Whenever the baby moves or makes a noise the kitty jumps back. Very funny to watch.

Visitors

Sunday and after church the visits started rolling in. At one stage I think we had 8 people in the one room.

Ezra, Melanie’s sisters (Marianne’s) son, oldest of four so very used to babies now.

Now a father!!

So after two days since getting into the hospital at 1800 on the 17th Wed. She is born. Yay!!

We went in at 1800 at which time Mel was induced. As it turns out this was a good thing as Kira was facing the wrong way (towards the front rather than the back) this meant she could not bend the right way to get through the birth canal correctly. So this meant Mel had to have a C Section.

This was very hard on Mel and she was very sedated by the time it was over. But all went well. Everything moved pretty fast once they decided to do the C Section.

Pre-op.

More Snow… sigh

A little bit of catchup to do so will start with pre Kira. By 2 days.

So before heading to the hospital we had a bit of snow. Maybe about 20cm deep but with a big pile at the end of the driveway from the snow plow. As I was expecting visitors, due to the new baby I went ahead and cleared the the spare car  port too.

Before 1

But while stuck at the hospital we got even more.
