Just a few more pictures and updates – not much going on except feed baby, change baby’s diaper, put baby to sleep…repeat. We’re doing good though, and getting into a bit of a routine. Joseph goes back to work Monday though, so probably we’ll need a new routine once that comes round, but for the rest of the weekend, we’re just resting and enjoying our new little family.

The kitty is still curious from time to time, but mostly she’s used to Kira now and rarely even acknowledges her. We’re trying to give her plenty of attention so she doesn’t turn into a resentful cat, and so far so good.

She pretty much sleeps all day, waking only to eat every 3-4 hours. Her fussy time (and only fussy time) seems to be between midnight and 3 am (naturally). Joseph has been doing all the nighttime feedings so that I can recover from the surgery in time for him to go back to work, which is incredible of him. He basically gets no sleep during that 3 hour period, but hopefully soon we can adjust her ”awake” time to a more reasonable hour.
All in all, she is a very good baby. She rarely cries and is just completely yummy.
A pleasant break after a crazy night with Melanie’s family. Love all the presents we got and was very impressed by Simone’s handywork. Mel’s mom was especially impressed. They were a bit concerned about all the sheep themed things. But what can I say – Kiwis like their sheep and wool.
More information to come when I or Mel have time. Very tired so going to bed.
Today we went into the Doctor for Kira. It is the day after the discharge and it appears there are some issues with getting enough food into little Kira so we are now playing a bit of catchup with supplemental formula.
On the way home we decided to stop off at the mall and have a nice lunch and buy a book for Mel. Was in there for a couple of hours with no disturbance. So it appears life may not be over.
However we got caught out in yet another dump of snow and as we were taking the back route so had to deal with snow drifts across the road. Life in Michigan.. strange, I still like the snow
